KIWANIS FAMILY

With the founding of Kiwanis in 1915, the Kiwanis Family has experienced steady growth over the years amongst individuals of all ages. From the founding of the high school branch of Kiwanis – Key Club – in 1925, the Kiwanis Family has expanded to all age levels. The collegiate branch, Circle K, was founded in 1951 followed by Builders Club (1975) for students in middle school, K-Kids (1998) for students in elementary school, and Aktion Club (2000) for adults with disabilities. These clubs together make up the Kiwanis Family.

K-Kids

With over 36,000 members worldwide, K-Kids focus on providing opportunities for working together in service to school and community, developing leadership potential, fostering the development of strong moral character, and encouraging loyalty to the school, community, and nation. ​

Builders Club

Builders Club is the largest service organization for middle school and junior high students. They are a student-led community service organizations that operates under school regulations with over 46,000 members worldwide. Their motto is "Building Leaders" and their vision is to develop competent, capable, and caring leaders through service. Similar to Key Club, they provide members with opportunities to perform service, build character, and develop leadership. A Builders Club is chartered with a Kiwanis Club, but can also be co-sponsored by Key Club and Circle K. 

Key Club

Key Club is a student-led, high school organization. Members make the world a better place through service. In doing so, Key Club grows individuals as leaders by answering the call to lead, summoning the courage to engage and developing the heart to serve.

Circle K

Circle K International Circle K is the premiere college and university community service, leadership development, and friendship organization in the world. Clubs are sponsored by a Kiwanis Club on a college or university campus. Similar to Key Club, Circle K is a self-governing organization: they elect their own officers, conduct their own meetings, and determine their own service activities. Circle K currently exists in 17 nations and holds the motto "Live to Serve, Love to Serve."

Aktion Club

Aktion Club allows adults living with disabilities to get involved in their communities. Their motto is "Where development has no disability," and they work to develop competent, capable, caring leaders through the vehicle of service. Their mission is to provide adults living with disabilities an opportunity to develop initiative, leadership skills, and to provide service to their communities.

Kiwanis

Kiwanis is an organization of service clubs headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. They are made up of approximately 8,600 clubs in 96 countries and have over 586,000 adult members. Kiwanis serves as a global organization of members dedicated to change the world, one child and one community at a time. They contribute greatly to the success of Key Club and other Service Leadership Partners, as they sponsor all the smaller branches of the Kiwanis Family. ​
